Greek-American Hollywood star Jennifer Anniston’s mother, Nancy Dow, has died at the age of 79. Anniston, who had been estranged from her mother the past years, told ‘People’ magazine: ‘With great grief, my brother John and I announce that our mother Nancy Dow is no longer with us. She was 79 and passed away calmly with her family and friends by her side, after a suffering from a illness for a long time’.

According to ‘In Touch Weekly’ magazine, Anniston and had seen her mother on May 12 for the first time in 5 years. The 47-year old star explained that the reason for her separation from her mother was the harsh criticism she received on her career by her.

Their relationship took a turn for the worse when Nancy Dow published a book titled ‘From Mother and Daughter to friends’ in which she revealed details about their relationship. Contrary to her relationship with her mother, Anniston had always been her ‘daddy’s girl’, with the star always expressing her love and admiration for her father in many interviews.
