The government proves day by day that it is incompetent to handle the approximately 54,000 refugees and migrants stranded in Greece after the EU-Turkey agreement.

The violent incidents occurred in the Greek islands of Lesvos and Samos, the shooting at Kilkis and the new makeshift refugee camps that have been set up by refugees in Northern Greece show that the Greek government still cannot deal with the refugee crisis. The clashes among the refugees is a daily phenomenon, the Greek islands are suffocated by the stranded refugees, while the process of granting asylum or returning the non-qualified refugees to Turkey is delayed and the asylum mechanism is not working properly, with European officials being responsible for that.

Meanwhile, the dispute between EU and Turkey over the agreement and the conflict arose between Ankara and Berlin over the recognition of the Armenian genocide by the German parliament makes things more difficult. Sealing the Aegean route has forced refugees and immigrants to search for other passages in the Mediterranean with Crete being in danger. However, authorities have expressed fears over a possible increase in refugee flow in the summer due to the good weather and the problems with Turkey.
