The General Secretariat for Civil Protection (GSCP) issued a heightened fire alert warning to state services, municipalities and prefects in the areas of Attica, Euboea, Corinth. Boeotia and Argolis. More specifically, the risk of fire concerns the following prefects:

-Attica Region

-Sterea Ellada Region (mainland central Greece): Boeotia, Euboea

-Peloponnese Region: Corinth, Argolis

The GSCP also advises citizens to be especially cautious and avoid negligible actions in the open that could cause fires, like disposing of cigarette butts, burning dry leaves, branches or residue of cleaning liquids, the use of BBQs or machinery that cause sparks. In the event that people spot fires they are called to contact 199.
