The 23-year-old girl from Thessaloniki, who was attacked and sexually assaulted by 3 migrants on the Aristotle University campus, Monday, is suffering from deep psychological trauma, as a close friend of her revealed to protothema.gr. Commenting on the victim’s state, her friend told protothema.gr that she has completely ‘shut down’ and keeps to herself after the horrific ordeal. ‘She is extremely frightened. She refuses to talk to anyone about what happened. She feels ashamed and violated, because they might not have penetrated her, but the fact that she was forced to perform oral sex is still rape’, the friend said. The three migrants, two Syrians and an Afghan, were officially charged with the felonies of gang rape, robbery, drug possession and trafficking and grand theft, late Monday night by Thessaloniki prosecutor Argyri Valousi. Two of the accused are under-aged. The three culprits were arrested by the police after investigations lead them to an apartment, where four other migrants were also arrested on charges of drug possession. After searching the apartment police confiscated 2kg of unprocessed marijuana, 5,670 Euros, believed to have been acquired through the sale of drugs, 11 cell phones, eight sim cards, two precision scales and jewellery. According to the police report based on the 23-year old victim’s deposition, the accused forced the girl to have oral sex with them after stealing her cell phone and threatening physical violence against her and her male friend. The male friend managed to escape and contact the police, who arrived on the scene after the victim had been sexually tortured, according to the girl’s close friend.
