Anarchists and members of anti-establishment groups clashed with riot police units on Alexandras Avenue, in downtown Athens, Monday morning, causing damages to parked cars in the surrounding area. The clashes reportedly started when the anarchists spotted a group of Golden Dawn members, an extreme right neo-Nazi party represented in the Greek parliament, passing by the area. The two groups engaged in rock throwing and clashes, before the riot police were called in to dispel the clashing parties. Police used sound and flash grenades to repel the youth, who responded by hurling rocks against the officers after climbing on the roof top of the building.
