The Panhellenic Maritime Association, the seamen’s workers’ union, decided to suspend its strike on Saturday morning. This means that all ship routes start to operate normally in all ports of mainland and island Greece. As the union’s general secretary Yiannis Chalas explained, the seamen understood the trouble the strike would have caused to the Greek society in light of the Christmas holidays and decided to postpone its actions.
