EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici said the Commission was still assessing the measures announced by Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, arriving at the preparatory meeting of the EU socialists’ group, Thursday in Brussels. Moscovici went on to say that everyone sharing the same view must assume their responsibilities, underlining that decision reached on the Greek debt relief was stable and based on the conclusion of the first program review and therefore could be be questioned. “These factors continue to exist,” he said and added that we cannot connect the debt relief, which is necessary, with the social cohesion. Then head of the Socialists in the EP, Gianni Pittella called the EuroGroup decision to suspend the medium-term measures on the Greek debt relief was embarrassing and unacceptable.
