The symbol of the French capital will be renovated in an attempt to boost the city’s candidacy for the 2024 Olympic Games.
The final decision is due on September 2017 while Paris is also candidate for the World Expo 2025 along with Manchester and Osaka.
The renovation plan is quite ambitious and it is estimated that it will cost approximately 317 million-euros and works are expected to last almost 15 years. This will include new cashiers, new elevators, increased security as well as improved lighting.
The Eiffel Tower is visited by more than 7 million people each year with annual turnover of 82 million euros.
