Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura met with the King of Spain, Felipe VI in Madrid during the International Tourism Fair (FITUR). The Greek Tourism Organisation (GTO) is participating in the conference with a kiosk in an effort to strengthen tourism flows from Spain to Greece for the 2017 season. Mrs. Kountoura had a brief dialogue with the Spanish King within during a formal dinner held by the Spanish crown in honour of officials representing countries taking part in the Fair. Mrs. Kountoura met with officials from the Spanish and international tourism sector, including travel agencies specialising in tour packages to Greece. The Greek Minister has also scheduled a series of interviews in Spanish media to promote Greece as an attractive destination.
