Major opposition party New Democracy (ND) leads ruling SYRIZA by a 9-point margin the most recent poll. According to the poll, 26.8% of the respondents supported New Democracy, compared to 17.8% who said they would vote for SYRIZA. The survey was conducted by ALCO and published in newspaper “Parapolitika”. The winner prediction showed ND leading with 56% of those polled saying they believed the major opposition party would win the next elections. The results of the survey, which will be published in full on the weekend, showed ND widening the gap, as the same pollster’s previous survey in November of 2016 recorded a lead by ND of 6.4%. 35% of those asked said they wanted early elections to be held, while 34% are in favour of a coalition government. A Thursday night poll by the University of Macedonia, aired on Skai TV, gave a 14 point lead to ND.
