The House of Lords voted in favor of an amendment that forces the Government to guarantee the rights of EU citizens living in the UK.

Theresa May, however, is confident that the amendment will be rejected by the Commons later this month.
Lords who voted to alter the Bill were accused of “playing with fire” and critics accused them of pointless “posturing” and “doing a disservice to the national interest”.
Labour’s amendment calls for ministers to bring forward proposals ensuring the rights of EU citizens living in the UK to continue post-Brexit, within three months of triggering Article 50.
