A World Bank map depicts the Northern Aegean sea under Turkish control. A map presenting initiatives funded by the organisation on its official website shows the Turkish program “Turkey SME Energy Efficiancy Project GEF (P122178)” covering the sea region between the Greek islands of Agios Stratis and Limos, with a tag “North Aegean, Turkey.” The matter was raised in the Greek parliament by MP and representative of the Potami party, Giorgos Amyras, who sent a letter to the President of the World Bank. “Northern Aegean is not Turkey”, Mr. Amyras pointed out in his letter, requesting an immediate correction by the bank.
