The winner is the center-right current Prime Minister Mark Rutte whose VVD political party gets 33 seats and a percentage of 21,3%. In the second place we see Geert Wilders, who increased his party’s strength but did not manage to come first, as the polls up until the Dutch-Turkey crisis suggested. His party PVV gets 20 seats and 13,1%.
However, Jeroen Dijsselbloem’s CDA is the great loosers of the elections as they loose a staggering 29 seats, going from 38 to 9!
The turnout was almost 82% which is considered a very high number.
As it seems, it will take four parties to form a government in the Netherlands.
