The leaders of Germany and France decided to allow rallies of Turkish politicians in their countries on the Turkish referendum provided the domestic laws were respected. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande released a joint statement condemning the term “nazi” used by Turkey to criticise Germany and other EU countries that had decided to ban Turkish politicians from holding rallies in their countries. The statement read that France had expressed its solidarity to the countries that had come under attack by Turkey. Turkish citizens will go to the ballots in mid April to decide on whether to expand executive powers of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
