Where would you end up if you dug straight downwards? Apart from dead, of course.

We’ve all wondered it – and, if you’re in the UK, we’ve all assumed you would emerge – hot, sweaty and with your spade – somewhere in Australia.

Nope, it turns out you’d end up in the ocean just off the south-east coast of New Zealand.

That’s according to Antipodes Map, a tool where you can find out exactly where you’d end up from wherever you are.
