Convicted terrorist Dimitris Koufontinas, who is serving a life sentence in prison at the facilities in Volos for multiple murders, was granted a new 48-hour furlough. The convict, who was sentenced for 11 murders and other illegal acts, requested and received the leave despite the recent controversy caused after his transfer from the maximum security prison of Korydallos in Athens to Volos.
According to sources, the Prison’s three-member Disciplinary Committee decided on Monday to approve his application. Koufontinas has received 3 more 48-hour furloughs before his transport to Volos.
