Cypriot President Anastasiades informs EU Supreme Judges about Turkish violations of International Law

A delegation of EU Supreme Judges is visiting Cyprus

Cypriot president, Nicos Anastasiades raised the issue of Turkey’s violations of international law against the Republic of Cyprus to a visiting delegation of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union, he received on Friday.

In his statements after the meeting, the President of the Supreme Court of Cyprus, Myron Nikolatos, who accompanied the delegation, said that the President of the Republic of Cyprus had the opportunity to inform them about the violations of international law perpetrated by Turkey against the Republic of Cyprus, and to talk about the latest events as well as the big problem of the illegal occupation of the northern part of the island .

Mr. Nikolatos said that the Supreme Court is hosting the Board of Governors of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union and that the visit to the President was complimentary.
He added that the Network’s Board includes ten Presidents of Supreme Courts of EU Member States and that the conference will discuss issues including the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law.
