Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias called the Turkish Supreme Court’s decision to annul the decision protecting the status of Hagia Sophia as a museum “a provocation to global cultural heritage and to UNESCO.”

“During the teleconference of the Foreign Ministers from @EPP, I informed my colleagues about the provocation it poses to world cultural heritage, as well as to @UNESCO, the decision that invalidates Kemal Ataturk’s 1934 decree on its protection.
