The International Music Academy of the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses (M.A.A.K.S.S.) held at the premises of the historic school on the island of Spetses is proud to announce its dates for 2022, from the 16th of July- 25th of July.
Once again, in its second edition, the Academy will provide an educational platform for musical encounters, where young musicians from across the globe can attend master classes by internationally established artists, as well as to perform concerts in order to build on their musical skills. M.A.A.K.S.S. aspires to roll out a strong community engagement program to encourage citizens of Spetses and the region to participate, and together build a visionary academic program for Greece.
In 2022 the Music Academy will schedule master classes for Voice, Violin, Violoncello, Flute, and Trombone. The premises of the school, naturally befitted with an exceptional heritage, will offer an ideal surrounding for this unique Music Academy in Greece.

The Flute Master Class is open to young professionals and music students who are seeking to expand their performance experiences through creative personal growth. Active Participants will have the opportunity to come together, learn, rehearse, and perform concerts in the charming environment of the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses, a significant venue for the educational and cultural life of Greece. Furthermore, they will be able to enjoy the nature of a Greek island during a delightful season of the year. This Μaster Class is mainly focused on the repertoire for flute and piano οr flute alone, as well as on orchestral flute excerpts. It will include daily warmups, individual lessons, as well as group lessons on technical issues. There will be a limited number of 8 active participants. Auditors to the Flute Master Class are more than welcome!
General Information
Venue
Lessons take place at the historical Anargyrios and Korgialenios School (A.K.S.S.) on Spetses/Greece. Located only 179 km from Athens, Spetses Island is easily accessible by bus or by ferry/high-speed hydrofoil from the port of Piraeus (appr. 2 hours). The unique premises of A.K.S.S. offer an ideal surrounding for a music academy. No private automobiles are allowed on the island within the town limits. The most common modes of transport are walking, horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, and motorcycles. The island is covered with pines and is famous for its clear waters. Tutors Opening Concert
The Music Academy will start on Saturday 16 July 2022 with an opening concert of the prestigious professors of the Master Classes.
Young Musicians Concerts
Active Participants will have during the Academy the opportunity to perform in a a series of public concerts, sharing their experiences with the wider public of Spetses.
Piano Accompaniment
Active Participants will rehearse and perform with the official accompanists of the Master Classes.
Accommodation
Active Participants will be lodged in the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School, in shared rooms with half board. Auditors will have to organize their accommodation and meals by themselves.
Master Classes Fees/Costs
• Active Participants: 690 € (includes course fee, piano accompaniment, lodging, half board and a non-refundable registration fee of 200 €)
• Auditors: 80 € (10 days attending)
• Single Day Visitors: 10 €
Bank transfer charges are the responsibility of the payer (participant of the masterclasses) and should be paid at source in addition to the registration cost.
Application Deadlines
Applications will be accepted until the 20th of June.
There will be a limited number of 8 active participants in each Master Class. There is no application deadline for Auditors.
How to Apply
Applications are to be submitted to the Academy at www.maakss.com/admissions website. After having completed and sent the electronic form, the Academy will contact participants and direct them to the rest of the registration process. A video recording (no duration limit) will be additionally required in order to accomplish the registration.
