There are zero Covid-19 omicron variant cases in Greece, authorities say

40,000 samples were re-examined over the past 15 days

Newsroom November 27 05:23

The Hellenic National Public Health Organisation said there were no Covid-19 cases of the new variant called “Omicron” in Greece, after re-examining 40,000 samples of the last 15 days.

Meanwhile, Greek scientists are wary of the new mutation, as there is little data to ascertain its seriousness. The Civil Aviation Authority issued a directive for flights to travelers from South African countries. Specifically, according to the service, the directive covers the countries of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini, Zambia, and Malawi and aims to limit the spread of COVID-19 and the latest mutation.
