The Turkish Journalists’ Union condemned the incident and said in a statement: “We condemn the vicious act of journalist Muharrem Sarikaya against the technical sound of Ahmet Demir. We expect an apology from Sarikaya”.

Afterwards and while the video went viral on all social media in the country, the journalist apologized, but the technician stated that he would file a lawsuit.

However, some Twitter users said in their posts that Sarikaya’s apology was not enough and that he should be expelled from the profession.

A little later it was announced that the channel ended its collaboration with the well-known journalist.
