Greek authorities announced that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 6,667, of which 8 were identified after checks at the country’s entry points. The total number of cases is 1,056,583 (daily change + 0.6%), of which 50.4% men.
Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 196 are considered related to travel from abroad and 2,739 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 71, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 20,198 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 655 (60.8% men). Their median age is 63 years. 78.8% have
an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 548 (83.66%) are unvaccinated
or partially vaccinated and 107 (16.34%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,703 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
Meanwhile, according to data, there are 33 confirmed Omicron cases, as well as a further 98 cases suspected to be of the new variant.
