Only a day after the delivery of the six first French Rafale fighters to Greece, Turkish provocations escalated as 41 violations of the Hellenic National air space were reported on Thursday.
Nine of the violations were committed by F-16 fighters, while there were also nine infringements of the Athens FIR.
Eight F16 fighters flew over the Aegean in four formations, while three spy CN-235s planes and two helicopters individually violated the air traffic rules in the Athens FIR.
A total of 13 Turkish Air Force aircraft flew over the Northeast, Central, and Southeast Aegean.
According to the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), the Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules, in accordance with established practice.
