The Greek Minister of Immigration and Asylum Notis Mitarakis is visiting Pakistan, where he will have talks with the political leadership of the country, “with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in matters of combating illegal immigration, as well as in matters of legal immigration”, as mentioned in a relevant announcement of the ministry.
The goal of the Greek side is to promote opportunities for legal immigration – especially seasonal workers – as a counterweight to the action of smuggling networks, with the aim of curtailing illegal entries into Europe.
Finally, issues of cooperation between Pakistan at the European Union level will also be discussed.
