PM Mitsotakis expelled the Minister of Agricultural Development, Spilios Libanos

The new Minister of Agricultural Development and Food will be announced in the coming hours

The Minister of Agricultural Development, Spilios Libanos submitted his resignation of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, earlier today by.

The occasion was, according to a relevant announcement of the Prime Minister’s office, the attitude of Mr. Lebanos in the presence of the Mayor of Sparta Mr. Doukas in reference to the deadly fires of Ilia in 2007.

Mitsotakis was furious when he was informed of what was said at the town hall of Sparta. He did not even wait for the video to be broadcast on the mainstream media or for an announcement to be issued. He reacted immediately and asked him to resign even though he is considered an official close to him.

The announcement of the Prime Minister’s Office:

The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis contacted the Minister of Agricultural Development and Food, Spilios Libanos and asked him for explanations for his reaction to the unacceptable words of the Mayor of Sparta Mr. Doukas about the deadly fires of Ilia in 2007. The Minister admitted that he should have reacted differently and handed in his resignation to the Prime Minister. The resignation of Mr. Lebanos was accepted by the Prime Minister. The new Minister of Agricultural Development and Food will be announced in the coming hours.
