The Russian Embassy in Athens commented on the decision of the Greek Ministry of Culture to cancel all collaborations of the Greek cultural organisations with Russian institutions and artists, as a reaction to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The Embassy in Athens expressed its opposition to the decision of the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, in a Twitter post, noting “another move, precisely in lockstep with Western anti-Russian policy.”

Greek cultural organisations were ordered to cease any collaboration with institutions from Russia by a decision of the Ministry of Culture. Thus, the re-broadcast of the “Swan Lake” of the Bolshoi Ballet by the Athens Concert Hall and the concert “The Moscow Soloists” at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall have been cancelled.
To this end, the services of the ministry yesterday informed the supervised bodies to suspend “any implementation, cooperation, planning or discussion of cooperation” with Russian cultural organizations.
