Georgia will formally apply for membership in the European Union, according to the country’s deputy prime minister.

This is another blow to Russia, as states in the region fear they could be the next targets of Russia.

The Georgian Parliament resolution calls on the Member States and the EU institutions to take all necessary measures to accelerate Georgia’s accession to the European Union following the invasion of Ukraine by Putin and the Kremlin.
