Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias had a series of contacts with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba and the chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer.
Nikos Dendias informed his Ukrainian counterpart that he plans to visit Ukraine in the near future and that Greece intends to send humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine, including the Greek community, to which Greece attaches special importance, as he said in a post on Twitter.
Regarding his communication with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Foreign Minister stressed the need for humanitarian aid in Mariupol, where a significant part of the Greek community lives, hoping that the evacuation of civilians, including expatriates, will be possible. “Greece is ready to provide assistance to the evacuated,” he said in a post.
