Ukraine War: “Putin may strike NATO base to stop arms shipment”, says British intel official

Lord Ricketts also added that hostilities could continue for "several years" as a guerrilla war

Newsroom April 18 01:49

The sinking of the flagship of the Russian fleet “Moskva ” was a serious blow to the Kremlin and, and as the former head of British National Security, Lord Peter Ricketts, warns, President Putin could attack a NATO base in order to curb the transport of Western weapons to the Ukrainian forces.

According to the “Daily Mail”, the former security adviser of the government Lord Ricketts made statements to the BBC yesterday about the possible moves of the Russian president in order to stop the transfer of weapons to Ukraine.

“Vladimir Putin may even attack NATO aircraft or convoys bound for Ukraine,” Lord Ricketts told the BBC. He says Putin is becoming “increasingly desperate to prevent the transfer of weapons to the long-suffering country that has been bombed mercilessly since February 24.”

The conflict is moving towards a ‘vicious impasse where Russia wants to take control of a large part of the country’ and Ukraine is not going to give the go-ahead for the resolution of the crisis.

Lord Ricketts also added that hostilities could continue for “several years” as a guerrilla war as an ‘open wound in the heart ‘of Europe.”
