Coronavirus Greece – 7,580 new cases, 48 deaths, 260 intubated

45% of intubated patients are fully vaccinated

Greek authorities announced on Thursday that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 48 hours were 7,580. The total number of people who became ill amounts to 3,309,962 (daily change + 0.2%), of which 48.9% are men.

The number of possible new infections recorded in the last 48 hours was 233 while since the beginning of the SARS CoV-2 pandemic the total number is estimated at 121,976 (3.6% of the total number of positive results).

The new deaths of patients with Covid-19 are 48, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 29,073 deaths have been recorded. 95.5% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 260 (65.0% men). Their median age is 71 years. 93.1% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 143 (55%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 117 (45%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,601 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
