PM Mitsotakis: I informed Stoltenberg about the Turkish violations & overflights in the Aegean (video)

The joint statements of Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the Prime Minister of Finland Sana Marin

Newsroom April 28 02:21

The Prime Minister of Finland Sana Marin is in Athens from today for a meeting and official talks with Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

In their joint statements, the Greek Prime Minister referred to his communication with the Secretary General of NATO, regarding the challenges of Turkey.

Specifically, the Prime Minister referred to the Turkish provocation that culminated in the barrage of overflights over the Greek islands yesterday.

“I spoke with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and briefed him on Turkey’s provocative behavior. With dangerous overflights over Samos, Chios, Karpathos and other Greek islands. And I made it clear to Mr Stoltenberg that this behavior is unacceptable by a NATO partner in the SE Wing of NATO. Turkey, with its challenges, is undermining the unity of NATO, at a time when we must remain united. This behavior undermines the progress we made during my meeting with President Erdogan. It has to stop. We will raise this issue in all international forums. Turkey has not complied with the sanctions imposed by EU and NATO member states, and this is not the behavior of a state that wants to be an EU candidate”.
