German authorities say a vehicle crashed into pedestrians in Berlin on Wednesday, injuring about 30 people, according to a fire department spokesman.
Berlin police spokesman Martin Dams said the incident took place near the popular Kurfuerstendamm shopping mall west of the German capital.
He said the suspected driver of the vehicle was arrested.

It was not clear if the incident was the result of an accident or if the driver had deliberately driven over the crowd, Dams said.
According to the German newspaper Bild, one person lost his life.
