Turkey is exploiting the plight of unfortunate people – Greece responds harshly to Turkish claims

"Turkey pushes unfortunate people many times by force towards our borders", the minister stated

Newsroom August 19 02:24

The reaction of Citizen Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos to the new provocative statements of the Turkish Minister of the Interior was swift and harsh.

In particular, he emphasised: “The Turkish Minister of the Interior’s statements that Greece is a training camp for terrorists are provocative and have nothing to do with the truth and reality. And the whole of Europe knows this. As he knows very well, Turkey continues to exploit unfortunate people, irregular migrants, as it did in March 2020, pushing them many times by force towards our borders, which are Europe’s border with Turkey. We won’t allow it. We are defending our borders in the name of International Law.”
