A 51-year-old engine driver of a Ferryboat was pronounced dead of unknown causes after the Port Authority of Kasos was informed at noon yesterday, that he needed immediate medical attention.
The vessel sailed into the port of Kasos where a doctor examined the man after attempts were made to resuscitate and provide first aid to the 51-year-old by passenger doctor.
The patient was transported by ambulance to the P.P.I. Kasos where his death was confirmed.
The Port Authority of Kasos, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, ordered an autopsy to be carried out at the Forensic Service of Crete.
