The front pages of the entire press of Britain, as is natural, are almost exclusively focused on the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth.

All newspapers are covered with a photo of her, at various ages. In most, the background is black.

The Guardian chose a photo of the Queen holding her royal orb and sceptre.

A similar photo was chosen by the Independent.

The Daily Telegraph chose Queen Elizabeth’s quote “Grief is the price we pay for love” as its headline.

The Financial Times summarised: “Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, has died leaving her people in mourning. But reflecting a life of duty in which he united the country through 70 years of momentous change.”

The Times chose the headline “A Life of Duty”, while the Daily Mirror thanked the Queen for what she had given the UK.

The Daily Star chose the headline ‘You’ve done your duty, lady’.

The Daily Mail “Our hearts are broken.”
