The meeting between the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, began shortly before 19:20 and lasted for 1.5 hours.
The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Athens in the afternoon, shortly after 17:30, coming from Ankara.
It is recalled that the government representative Yannis Oikonomou, during the briefing of the political editors, characterized the Blinken visit as an extremely positive event and underlined that the relations between Greece and the USA are at the best level in recent years.
At the dinner that followed the meeting on the part of Greece was attended by, among others the Minister of Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos, and Greece’s ambassador to the USA Alexandra Papadopoulou, while on the American side was the US ambassador in Greece George Tsounis. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, did not attend as he has a fever.

Regarding the agenda for the meeting between the US Secretary of State and the Prime Minister, Mr. Economou had said that it includes all the issues concerning Greece, but also the international political scene, including all the major issues, the war in Ukraine, energy, relations with Turkey, NATO.
