Sudan: Air Force plane evacuates 39 people – 20 Greeks among them

The arrival of the C-130 of the Air Force in Athens is expected this evening

A C-130 aircraft of the Greek Air Force took off earlier today from Khartoum, as part of an operation to evacuate Greek citizens from Sudan.

The aircraft has already safely entered Egyptian airspace, carrying 39 people, of which 20 are Greek citizens and their family members.

The rest of those released are citizens of other EU member states, as well as third countries. A Greek diplomatic official also participates in the mission.

The arrival of the Air Force aircraft in Athens is expected this evening.
