Former Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon was arrested at her home on Sunday in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Authority into the finances of her party, the Scottish National Party (SNP).
The Police Scotland investigation relates to the whereabouts of £600,000 of SNP coffers, which came from Scottish independence campaign donations.
The 52-year-old politician is considered a suspect, is in custody and is being questioned by the police.
Sturgeon’s arrest follows the arrest of her husband Peter Merrell in April.
