Turkish media have taken aim at Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis following his post about the 49th sad anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus and remarks. Print and online press reports accuse the Prime Minister of the terms he used like “invasion”, “occupation army”, and “I do not forget”, but also the image of the northern part of Cyprus “bleeding”.

A “scandalous” post by Mitsotakis with a map that “targeted Turkey” is referred to by an article in the Sabah newspaper. “Exactly 49 years have passed since the “Peacekeeping Operation” in Cyprus carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis used exaggerated expressions about the operation,” the publication comments. A Haber network said in a related report: “Provocative post on Cyprus by Mitsotakis. He shared a picture showing the “TRNC” bloodied”.
