PM Modi said he supported dialogue on the Ukraine conflict

Greek PM Mitsotakis and his Indian counterpart Modi held a joint press conference in Athens. Modi deeply thanked PM Mitsotakis for his hospitality.

The Indian PM said his country supports dialogue on the Ukraine conflict. He thanked the Greek President, Katerina Sakellaropoulou for awarding him with the highest honour of the cross.

He stressed the deep historical ties between the two peoples.

Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the potential for cooperation between Greece and India in joint statements made after their meeting at the Maximus Mansion.

After Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed his Indian counterpart to our country, he referred to the relations between the two countries.

“The aim is to double bilateral trade with India,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said.

As he stressed, “Greece and India are committed to international law”.

On his part, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his support to our country regarding the devastating fires.

“Let me express my condolences on the loss of human lives in the fires in Greece,” he said while beginning his statement.

“We have friendly ties with Greece,” he said and went on to say that “we are strengthening the defence industries of Greece and India,” explaining the framework of cooperation between the two countries.

He said there is “huge potential for bilateral trade”.
