Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred in a post to the horrible traffic accident with the five dead Greeks in Libya.
“It is doubly painful to mourn lives lost saving lives,” the prime minister said of the five who died during a humanitarian mission, stressing that “the whole country is mourning.”
The prime minister’s post is detailed:
“It is doubly painful to mourn lives lost saving lives. And at the same time, to agonize for the health of our people who wanted to ease the agony of other people. Members of the Armed Forces who travelled to Libya to help after the natural disaster that struck our country.
In a tragic accident we mourn, unfortunately, 5 members of the Greek mission. A drama that occurred while they were performing the noble duty of humanitarianism and international solidarity.
The whole country is in mourning. My thoughts are with the families of the victims and our 10 injured. The State will stand by their side.”
