Minor clashes occurred shortly after 2:30 on Stadiou Street during the pan-educational rally while demonstrators were heading towards the Parliament.
According to the police, a group of protesters threw Molotov cocktails bombs at an anti-riot police unit, with the officers responding with the use of tear gas at Klafthmonos Square.
The rally takes place ahead of the expected vote tonight on the bill for the establishment of non-state universities.

Traffic regulations have been implemented by the traffic police in the center of Athens, which will last until the evening, as parallel gatherings are taking place on the occasion of International Women’s Day and the vote on the bill for non-state universities.
At least 8,000 demonstrators are participating in the rally, while the Hellenic Police have already made at least 9 arrests.
