With a temporary order from the president of the Fifth Division of the Council of State, Margarita Gortolidou, the construction works of the flyover in Thessaloniki are “frozen” following the appeals filed by the Association of Konstantinoupolitians Residents, the Association for the Protection of Sheikh Sou, and the Thessaloniki Runners Association.

The temporary order of the president of the Fifth Division is valid until a decision is made on the suspension request filed by the Associations and is expected to be discussed on April 17, 2024.
In their applications, the organisations underline that the construction works will cause irreparable damage to Sheikh Sou due to the drilling on the banks of the Malakopi stream, resulting in the destruction of the ecosystem and creating conditions for flooding in the event of severe weather phenomena.
