Alarm for the upcoming bad weather has been raised in the country and especially in areas that have already been affected, such as Thessaly and Evia, after meteorologists estimated that they will receive large amounts of water.
In Larissa is from early noon on Friday, 19 April, the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, as head of the meeting of the Coordination of Thessaly.
Thus, while Larissa as well as other areas are expected to be at the epicenter of bad weather, residents have procured bags of sand, while work has begun in Stomio Larissa and cleaned wells.

The Weather Emergency Forecast issued on 18-04-2024/1230 is upgraded to a Hazardous Weather Emergency Bulletin.
The weather is expected to deteriorate in most of the country from today, Friday (19-04-24) in the early afternoon until tomorrow, Saturday (20-04-24) at noon, with heavy rains and thunderstorms.
The intense phenomena will start from the west, quickly expanding to the central and northern mainland, the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades, the eastern Aegean and later to the Dodecanese.
Local hail is expected mainly in the eastern Aegean.
Winds will be stronger and will reach 7 and locally 8 Beaufort.

Α. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are forecast:
Today Friday (19-04-24)
α. From early afternoon in the Ionian Islands, Epirus and western Central Greece.
β. From late afternoon in Thessaly, western Macedonia, western Peloponnese and northern parts of eastern Sterea (Fthiotida).
c. In the evening hours the phenomena will extend further east and will affect areas of central and eastern Macedonia (mainly n. Pieria, Halkidiki as well as the marine – coastal areas of Serres and The Sporades, Evia (mainly the northern parts), the Cyclades, Thrace and the islands of the eastern Aegean.
d. Gradual weakening of the phenomena is expected from the evening hours in the Ionian Sea and the western mainland.
Tomorrow Saturday (20-04-24)
Until midday in Thessaly (mainly in the region of Magnesia and the eastern parts of Larissa), the Sporades, Evia (mainly the northern parts), in areas of central and eastern Macedonia (mainly the northern parts), and in the north of the region of the south-eastern part of Greece (mainly the northern parts).
Pieria, Halkidiki as well as the maritime – coastal areas of the n. Serres and n. Kavala), Thrace (mainly the southern and eastern parts), the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
Β. The phenomena from the evening hours today, Friday (19-04-24) until midday hours tomorrow, Saturday (20-04-24) will be particularly intense and will be more dangerous in the following areas:
East Thessaly
East East Sporades (mainly Skiathos and Skopelos)
South Pieria (Skofkoria, Sotokos and Skoski)
Eastern Evia and the north of Fthiotida (in the north)
Eastern Aegean Islands (mainly Chios and Lesvos)
