MINOAS practise drill in Crete for school evacuations and rescues from buildings

Special operation in the Gorge of Samaria and Kotsifou

Newsroom April 22 12:51

Practise drill MINOAS is under way in Crete, specifically in Chania and Rethymno where emergency number 112 sent a warning message to mobile phones of a conjectural major earthquake.

Following the practise drill of evacuation of public services and schools employees, citizens, and students, in the hypothetical situation that the island was at risk of a situational 6 Richter scale earthquake, everyone rushed to the assembly and also to points of protection.

Simultaneously, the prefecture’s building as well as the buildings of the local courts were evacuated in the practise drill where hypothetical operations to rescue people trapped in collapsed buildings took place with EMS and firefighters.

A similar assimilation advanced in Rethymno in the Kotsifou Gorge with theoretical injured citizens, traffic accidents and school evacuations.
