Bank working hours during Easter

By ministerial decree banks will also be closed on Tuesday, May 7th

Banks will be closed from Good Friday and will resume as of Wednesday, May 8th.

The Hellenic Bank Association in its announcement, states: “The mandatory holiday of May 1 coincides with Holy Week (Holy Wednesday), and according to Ministerial Decision No. 15102 (Government Gazette B’ 1406/4.3.2024), the mandatory holiday of May 1, 2024, has been moved to Tuesday, May 7, 2024.”

The General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) emphasised for Good Friday that it is mandatory for stores to be partially closed. According to the law, it is prohibited to employ wage earners and operate stores until 13:00. For other businesses, Good Friday is not included in the mandatory holidays prescribed by law for employees in the private sector. However, for private Good Friday is declared a holiday or partial holiday by decision of the Social Security Fund (SEPE), the Company’s Work Regulation, operational habit, and custom, under which business’ remain closed on this day.”

Banks will be closed are Good Friday (May 3), Easter Monday (May 6), and Tuesday (May 7).
