Alexandros Moukanos discussed a tragic accident during an interview with ERT, involving the late director Theodoros Angelopoulos. Moukanos described Angelopoulos giving instructions for a scene involving him, Akilas Karazisis, and an Italian colleague.
During the scene, Karazisis was hit by a motorcycle, propelled, and fell into a pit, where he was impaled. Moukanos recounted the chaos and panic that ensued, with three of them trying to assist without knowing who was injured. This incident, which occurred during filming for “The Other Sea” on January 24, 2012, serves as a grim reminder of the dangers on set.
