Piraeus: Easter departures causing congestion for ships at the port

Today, 18 routes are scheduled from Piraeus, 32 to the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf, 14 from Rafina, and 10 from Lavrio

Pictures captured on Good Friday morning at the port of Piraeus depicted scenes that even longtime observers of the area had not anticipated, as congestion occurred when three ships departed simultaneously.

Today, on Good Friday, there are scheduled 18 routes from the port of Piraeus, 32 to the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf, 14 from Rafina, and 10 from Lavrio.

Yesterday, on Maundy Thursday, there were numerous departures from various ports in Greece. From Piraeus, 21 ships departed, carrying 27,263 passengers and 4,275 vehicles to Aegean islands. Additionally, 38 departures were recorded for the Argosaronic Gulf islands, with 11,314 passengers and 1,433 vehicles. Rafina saw 16 departures, transporting 11,941 passengers and 2,767 vehicles, while Lavrio had 10 departures, accommodating 3,271 passengers and 1,105 vehicles.
