Greece’s prospects towards Artificial Intelligence took center stage at this year’s 5th Health Conference organized by ygeiamou.gr and Proto Thema.
The development of the Electronic Health Record, the utilization of tools for precision in disease diagnosis, the creation of Greek algorithms through the application of health data by the National Health Data Infrastructure (IDIKA), are just some of the country’s steps taken towards emerging to Artificial Intelligence.
Together, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis participated in the panel discussion entitled Artificial Intelligence: The revolution changing the face of Health, with Konstantinos Daskalakis, Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT and member of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Chairman of the High-Level Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence in Greece, and Michalis Bletsas, Researcher and Director of Computing at the MIT Media Lab, Administrator of the National Cybersecurity Authority, noted that the government sees Artificial Intelligence as a great opportunity, all three discussed how Greece has the potential to surpass those countries that currently are in the lead. The PM expressed that, Greece has initiated significant investments in Artificial Intelligence underlining that data will be anonymous while promoting Myhealthapp.
