A 45-year-old man who was shot with a rifle on Monday night in Muries, Kilkis, has died.
According to reports, it all happened at 22:30 on Monday night, when the 45-year-old man from Georgia who died, along with three other people (a 38-year-old friend, his friend’s 15-year-old son and his son’s 16-year-old friend), went to a livestock farm in the area and the 54-year-old owner shot towards them with a shotgun. Immediately afterwards, the individuals got into the car in which they drove to the scene and left.
A short time later, the police located them inside the settlement in Mouries and it was found that the 45-year-old had died.
According to the president of the community of Mouries, Thodoris Tiriakidis who spoke to protothema.gr, these people were known for their delinquent activity in the area and on Monday night they went to the offender’s livestock unit to steal and he shot in defense, and immediately afterwards alerted the police to inform about the incident.
The 54-year-old man was arrested and charged with manslaughter, while officers handcuffed the other three people who were with the 45-year-old.

According to the perpetrator’s father (the two of them live together, while the 54-year-old, who is single and has no children, used to live on the unit), the four went to the livestock unit on Monday night, broke down the door and shouted that they were going to kill his son. He got scared because they opened the door to the storage shed using an axe and a fire extinguisher, started stealing things and tools and shot them.
Further, he said that the son of one of the people who went to the unit used to work there before and the perpetrator fired him because he was stealing from him and they wanted revenge.
